It makes sense since Generative AI represents the broadest category. It encompasses all AI systems designed to generate new content that could plausibly have been created by a human.
Understanding Generative AI
Generative AI is designed to create new content or data that resembles authentic, human-generated material. These systems can produce a wide variety of outputs, including text, images, music, and even video, based on the patterns and structures they have learned from their training data.

Small Language Models (SLMs)
SMLs serve the same purpose as Large Language Models (LLMs), yet they are trained on a smaller amount of data. Therefore, they require significantly fewer computational resources compared to LLMs. Despite their smaller size, SLMs aim to maintain a high level of performance on various natural language processing tasks, including text generation, classification, and translation. Choosing SLMs can make your application more accessible on a broader spectrum of devices, or even enable offline functionality.

Conversational AI – definition
Finally, Conversational AI is an application of AI technologies, often leveraging LLMs, SLMs, or a combination of different AI models, to simulate human-like conversations. By using natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, and sometimes speech recognition technologies it results in understanding, processing, and responding to human language in a way that is both meaningful and contextually relevant.
